BRUSSELS, May 23, 2018 (Press Release) -ACE, the Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment, welcomes yesterday’s final adoption of the revised legislative package on waste by the Council of the EU. ACE members believe that the provisions included in the new legislation - in particular mandatory separate collection of all packaging which is a precondition to recycling - provide a strong foundation on which Member States can build to move towards a more circular economy.

Palm Paper to build Euro 60 million combined cycle power plant for supply of electricity and steam to newsprint mill in King's Lynn, UK

In view of environmental and economic considerations, Palm decided to build a combined cycle power plant (CCGT) to provide an independent supply of electricity and steam to the site.

Palm Paper Ltd., which operates the world's largest paper mill for newsprint from its King's Lynn site in the UK, was supplied with steam by two natural gas-fired fire-tube boilers.

CalRecycle approves $1 million loan to paper and plastic bottle producer Ecologic Brands

SACRAMENTO, May 17, 2018 (Press Release) -The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery has approved a $1 million loan to expand a San Joaquin Valley company that makes bottles from recycled paper and plastic.

The Recycling Market Development Zone loan was awarded to Ecologic Brands of Manteca. It will help Ecologic utilize more California-generated cardboard, mixed paper, and plastic to make its paper bottles—diverting an estimated 488 tons of waste and creating 69 jobs in the process.
