LAUSANNE, Switzerland , May 2, 2018 (Press Release) -Tetra Pak has reduced the energy use of its separators by 40%, by incorporating a breakthrough pressure management technology, Encapt™​, into the systems’ design.

The Encapt technology lowers the atmospheric pressure around the spinning bowl using a low-pressure pump, and the system is supervised by sensors that keep air friction minimal. Less friction means less energy required.

WELLINGTON, NZ, May 2, 2018 (Local News) -Huge stockpiles of rubbish are building up around the country as councils work out what to do with it.

China recently stopped accepting 24 different types of waste including plastic and paper because it said contaminants were polluting its environment.

New Zealand previously sent most of its recycling to China.

“This is a large and complex project,” Environment Minister Iain Rankin said Friday of the decision to apply a Class II environmental assessment to the long-awaited Boat Harbour industrial cleanup in Pictou County.

“Cleaning it up could have serious environmental impacts on the soil, ground and surface water,” Rankin said.

The European Commission is preparing to ban straws, cutlery, cotton buds, plates and balloon sticks, a leaked draft document seen by NGOs and published in POLITICO revealed this week.
