SEGEZHA, Russia, May 18, 2018 (Press Release) -For the first time Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill (affiliated to Segezha Group, Sistema JSFC) produced SKE i4 Premium Ultra-High-Strength Paper as a Pilot Project. Pilot production of paper weighing 90 grams allowed achieving the necessary strength characteristics under the specification within 3 days. The first export consignment will be shipped to Vietnam.

Tetra Pak plans to fight back in war on plastic straws; working ‘full speed’ on paper straws

LONDON, May 28, 2018 (Financial Times) -Packaging giant Tetra Pak is planning to lobby politicians and regulators about the benefits of plastic straws despite pledging last month to launch a paper straw for its popular juice cartons by the end of this year.

In a letter seen by the Financial Times, Charles Brand, Tetra Pak’s head of sales and marketing, told customers the paper straw announcement had been made to address “the rising tide of negative public opinion towards plastic straws and government drives around the world to reduce their use”.

LISBURN, UK, May 25, 2018 (Press Release) -Vanden Recycling has welcomed Tesco's announcement that it has notified its suppliers that it will remove hard to recycle materials from its products sold in its stores by 2019.

Tesco said yesterday that it has briefed its suppliers to remove hard to recycle materials including PVC, polystyrene, oxy degradable materials, PLA (polylactic acid), water soluble bio plastics and industrial compostable.

It is also consulting on removing black plastic and polypropylene for certain food applications among others.
