BRUSSELS, March 6, 2015 (RISI) - DS Smith continues to strengthen its competitiveness in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. By April, when the group's financial year ends, DS Smith's packaging division will have invested Euro 25 million ($28 million) in the so-called D-A-CH region.
DS Smith said it installed, amongst others, a digital printing press including a high efficiency production plotter in June last year. Moreover, the group installed new dry ends on the corrugators at two sites in the D-A-CH region.
BRUSSELS, March 5, 2015 (RISI) - Italy's corrugated packaging giant Pro-Gest Group has revealed plans to acquire two corrugated packaging plants from the Mauro Benedetti firm.
Pro-Gest said that it is currently at an advanced stage in negotiations with Mauro Benedetti to take over its Modugno plant in the Bari province and the Carnate plant in Lombardy.
Pro-Gest said that the acquisition will allow the firm to strengthen its position in the finished box segment as well as expand its geographical footprint in southern Italy.Read more
