According to survey results released today and conducted by Margie Dana, printing industry expert, and industry consultant and researcher John Zarwan, most print buyers would like more help from the paper industry and desire more information about changes in the industry. In addition, they would welcome more educational information to help them in their roles as paper specifiers. The findings indicate that most buyers currently rely on their print partners for information about paper and the paper industry.Read more
More than half of Americans (56 percent) would like to have more sustainable options for the paper and packaging products they purchase, according to a new survey released by Asia Pulp and Paper (APP). Additionally, 42 percent of survey respondents indicate that they are willing to pay more for sustainable paper or products in sustainable packaging.Read more
A new world record of 4,082 consecutive, successful splices was set by Jean Carlo Cerdas of New England Sheets. Jean Carlo Cerdas successfully made every splice he attempted from November 11, 2013 to July 15, 2014.
Representatives from MarquipWardUnited and the entire New England Sheets team celebrated the new record with Cerdas on Friday October 10, 2014. AICC “Cycling Committee” Chairman Guy Ockerlund, president of OxBox in Addison, Ill., has announced the formation of AICC’s “Recyclers,” an informal bicycle club for AICC members. Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd. has created a new joint venture sheet feeder located in Carol Stream, Ill. The new joint venture, BlackHawk Corrugated, will be co-owned and operated by Atlantic and its JV partner StandFast Packaging of Addison, Ill. Atlantic's investment in BlackHawk will exceed $40 million and create in excess of 100 new jobs in the region. BlackHawk is expected to be fully operational by late 2015.Read more
