A long-time Chattanooga business, Southern Champion Tray, says they plan to expand in Chattanooga, adding an investment of $18.1 million that will create 105 new jobs, according to a news release.
SCT, a third-generation local business, manufactures of paperboard packaging that is used primarily in the food industry. The company also creates paper products for other industries including cosmetic, automotive, hardware and office.
The family-owned company currently employs about 450 people at two facilities in the Chattanooga area.Read more
Rock-Tenn Co., Norcross, Ga., has settled $249 million in projected benefit obligations through a voluntary lump-sum offer to former employees who have yet to retire, said John Stakel, senior vice president and treasurer.
