GENEVA, Switzerland, March 8, 2017 (Press Release) -Leading multinational paper bag manufacturer AB Group Packaging has launched a reusable ‘heavyweight’ paper bag, which is PEFC certified, 100% recyclable and has the unique ultra-strong quality of being able to carry up to 37lbs in weight. This exciting new product was launched at this year’s Packaging Innovations exhibition, held earlier this month at the NEC in Birmingham.
The paper used to make the bags is more durable, than standard papers as well as being both water and tear resistant. The super strong paper bags are constructed with large side gussets, which allow the bag to sit upright and open easily for fast, easy packing. With its cleverly concealed handles, the bag also has the capability to fold neatly, allowing it to be stored for reuse. The bags have soft hold handles, can be supplied with a coloured handle option, and are available in custom sizes with custom branding options.
Commenting on this new addition to the company’s extensive range, AB Group Packaging’s Managing Director, Dermot Brady, said: “Companies offering these bags to customers in store can be assured that they are choosing a responsibly sourced, renewable paper alternative choice to thicker plastic bags. Our heavyweight bags are reusable, recyclable, compostable and biodegradable – a great environmental choice which ticks all the boxes for the eco minded customer”.
AB Group Packaging is one of Europe and the USA’s leading manufacturers of high-quality printed paper bags for both national and international brands. The company manufactures sustainable carrier bag solutions, and owns and operates manufacturing plants in Ireland, the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom.
PEFC, as the world’s leading forest certification system, has certified more than 300 million hectares of forests to PEFC’s internationally recognised Sustainability Benchmarks, supplying more than 18,000 Chain of Custody certified companies with responsibly sourced timber and wood products, such as those used in producing fibre-based paper products such as packaging.
Today, more and more companies from SMEs to global brands are keen to demonstrate that the fibre they use in their packaging materials comes from certified sustainable sources. This matters as consumers are increasingly conscious of how their purchasing decisions impact on the world’s precious natural resources.
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) is an international non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through independent third-party certification. PEFC has certified more than 300 million hectares of forests to PEFC’s internationally recognised Sustainability Benchmarks, supplying more than 18,000 Chain of Custody certified companies with responsibly sourced timber and wood products, such as those used in producing fibre-based paper products such as packaging.
