Asia Paper is highly regarded in Korea, not only as the country's first industrial enterprise, but also for the high quality of its products and modern production processes.
While product quality is paramount, energy-efficient production also has an important role to play. With this in mind and to satisfy increasing demand, Asia Paper has decided to modernize certain paper machines in its Cheong Won and Sihwa mills.
The aim of the rebuilds is to achieve the highest possible post-press section dry content to ensure that the dryer section makes optimum use of the energy it consumes. Since Asia Paper attaches particular importance to modern production technologies, the company decided in favour of Bellmer technology. Bellmer shoe presses are known for achieving high dry content and the hydrodynamic shoe design reduces both energy consumption and downtime.
PM 3 at Cheong Won will be fitted with two shoe presses, installed as a so-called tandem-press in the press area. The third TURBOPress will complement the existing shoe press on PM 1 at Sihwa.
